hey I have 1 keypad (6160) currently connected to my Honeywell vista 20 panel, the address is set to 16. I am adding a Honeywell 6271C Color Graphic Touchscreen keypad. After it powered up a screen cqame up to set the device address. According to the programing guide the first keypad should be assigned address 16 (mine is and works fine) and additonal keypads to 17-23. I assigned the 6271c to 17 using the arrow keys. The keypad reset and appears to be working, but it is not communicating with the panel. I cant set or disarm the alarm from the new panel. Any help would be appreciated.

If you were adding a regular keypad like another 6160 you would need to use adress 17 thru 23, but this graphic keypad is programed differently in the panel. To use the 6271c with your vista 20p panel, you must program the AUI settings in the programming menu. enter the programming menu from your 6160 keypad and enter *189 to enter the AUI settings. enter 1 in the first field. exit programming mode. At the 6271c keypad, reset the address to 1. when you exit the setting menu the keypad should reboot and begin communicating normally with the panel.

I have an Ademco 6270 keypad. Can I set the address the same way as with the Honeywell 6271c? I think it is the same alarm system keypad but the display is black and white and the 6271C has a color display.
